미국에 와서 여러 힘들고 혼란스러운 상황들이 많이 있지만 나에게 힘을 주고 위로를 주는 것들 중 하나가 자녀들이 새로운 환경에 적응하고 감당해 내기 위하여 열심히 노력을 해 주고 있을 때 이다.

셋째 딸이 초기에 많이 힘들어 하더니 수개월 전부터 나름 열심히 하고 있는 듯하다.
선생님들의 추천을 받아 Federal 하고 어떤 Hornors club 같은 곳에 유료 회원이 되었다. 그리고 가끔씩 아래와 같은 메일이 학교로 부터 부모에게 온다.

이 곳에서 새로운 도전과 경험으로 멋진 미래를 만들어 가기를..!! 화이팅!!

막내 딸도 이제는 열정과 관심을 갖고 도전해 보기를 기대한다.

HONOR ROLL

The honor roll for all schools is published after the end of each grading period. The Effingham County Board of Education has established the following guidelines for making the honor roll:

•     Grades 1-5: Students must achieve a combined overall average of 89.5 or higher in Reading, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, with no individual grade lower than 85.
•     Grades 6-8: Students must achieve a combined overall average of 89.5 or higher for all courses, with no individual grade lower than 85. Note: Connections courses will be weighted as a ½ credit. Due to the A/B scheduling format, these classes meet half as often as academic content courses.
•     Grades 9-12: Students must achieve a combined overall average of 89.5 or higher for all courses.
